Someone said something I appreciated very dearly, she said, "Sometimes silence is the best message." Our biggest flaw sometimes seems we think we always need to shout to express a message, but one of my wise friends said sometimes when a person gets one thing right, they believe their judgment is right time and time after. Comes with a little confidence and and eagerness to speak. This way a person is more likely to fall in wrong. Opps. ;}
So silence can be crucial. Especially when talking to authority. Talking gives room for argument for mistake. The less you give to others, the less they may have on you.
But do not mistake this with utter silence, a balance in harmony will the two give their optimum usage. Since silence is lighter, while talk is heavier, silence and listening is needed more to equal the balance. Catching the metaphor? Listen two times as much as you speak. One tongue against two ears. A tongue with to jails, one of the teeth and one of the lips to hold back twice think twice, listen twice, before we speak once.
